My Story: From Protein Struggles to Recipe Success
It started during my fitness competition prep in 2017. I was eating the same bland chicken and broccoli every day, dreading meals that were supposed to fuel my goals. Despite being a certified nutritionist, I was failing at the most basic thing: making protein enjoyable.
The breaking point came when my then 10-year-old son asked, “Mom, why does healthy food always taste like punishment?” That night, staring at another sad plate of dry chicken, I made a promise: I was going to crack the code on high protein recipes that actually tasted amazing.
The Protein Prepper Mission Was Born
What started as a personal challenge became an obsession. I spent months in my Austin kitchen, testing protein combinations, experimenting with flavors, and yes – throwing out a lot of failed attempts. My family became my unwitting taste testers (sorry, guys!).
The breakthrough came with my first viral recipe: 25g protein pancakes that my kids fought over. Not because they were “healthy,” but because they were genuinely delicious. That’s when I knew I was onto something.

Why I’m Different from Other Recipe Bloggers?
I’m not a chef. I’m a busy mom, certified nutritionist, and former fitness competitor who understands the real struggle of hitting protein goals without sacrificing flavor or time.
Every recipe is tested by real families. My teenagers won’t eat anything just because it’s “good for them” – it has to taste good, period. If it passes the Thompson family test, it makes it to the blog.
I actually track macros. Unlike recipe blogs that guess at nutrition, every Protein Prepper recipe includes verified protein content because I know that precision matters for your goals.
